Holy Week 2023

Dear friends,

Holy Week begins this year on Sunday, 2 April, with a focus on Jesus’ dramatic entry into Jerusalem, which began his final week in his journey to the cross.

You are invited to join us for a Communion service at 09h00, as we remember this event and what it means to us. This will be an all-age service, as there will be no Children’s or Youth Church during the school holidays.

On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, I will send out reflections via WhatsApp, similar to what Jean Fisher has so graciously been doing throughout Lent.

On Thursday there will be a Tenebrae Service (Service of the Shadows) with Communion at 18h00.

Our Good Friday Service will be at 08h00.

On Easter Sunday (9 April) there will be a Sunrise Service with Communion at 06h30 in the garden (weather permitting). If it rains, the service will take place in the church. Please bring a torch to this service as it begins in darkness.

One of our Local Preachers, Denise Petersen, will lead the Easter Celebration Service at 09h00, as I will be leading services at Aldersgate (09h00) and Wesley (10h00).

I trust this will be a meaningful time as we continue to walk with Jesus to the cross and the tomb, and on to the Resurrection.

Grace & Peace
