Martin Mostert who designed our BMC Logo had this to say about the inspiration behind his concept.
"I spent a while working on this. I wanted to represent a vibrant group of people at various stages on an interestingly different journey into Christ. The cross turns out to be a signpost. (Shades of the Methodist Mission department logo). The people are in silhouette, and represent the whole spectrum of humanity.
"I also thought that they looked a bit like the notes of music on a stave. I have hit the ideas of vibrancy, drawing, all, worship, fellowship and mission. I have missed a specific image component for the idea of teaching; presumably it's there by implication.
"I was trying to get away from the previous generation of those "circle/square/triangle" based logos — I was trying to get a feeling of life into the composition. The colours are rather Piet Mondrian-ish. Just because I like his stuff!"
Thanks Martin!
